With September finished, we look back over the Summer and to Autumn, and what the rest of 2020 has left for us!
While Covid cases are on the rise and with Brexit on the horizon, we, if September is anything to go by, remain positive. We saw a record order intake during September, with many orders requested for October delivery, including what will be our largest ever run. October 2019 was our best ever sales Month and saw the production of our largest order, a 220,000 liner mts job, we have now taken an order that is for 350,000 liner mts, this along with some other large orders means that we head into October with 60% of our Budget figure already in hand with the equivalent of 50% of last October`s sales booked in, a total of 70,757,824 labels so far, another record Month? - we will see!
Like many we made use of the Furlough scheme during the Spring, which did help us during a quiet period, but since August we have had all staff back, one unexpected issue from the pandemic, is holidays and how to address the number of days we collectively still have to take, which as it currently stands would add 33% to next years holiday entitlement. This a result of Furloughed staff and people not able to take booked holidays. The situation is not helped by a busy October, while we have been encouraging holidays, we have now had to, apologetically, refuse some requests, indeed its long days and weekend work!
We are only to aware that with the differing situations around the Country, that all of this could change over-night if more "lock-downs" and restrictions are applied. We monitor our Covid policies and have some plans to review our goods-in / dispatch if cases continue to rise.
We had hoped that we could re-visit our staff "team-building" days, but currently this does not look possible. We where keen to do something, not only as a thank you to the staff for their hard work, but to put something back into one of the sectors that has been hardest hit, hospitality and entertainment, we will hope to do something as soon as we can.
So, thank you, our customers for your on going orders, suppliers for your support and to the staff, working hard and keeping a smile on their faces through some strange times.
