March 10th 2011 and the arrival of the new 13" Press.
January 2011 and Secura Labels are pleased to announce further investment,
another 13" Focus Proflex machine. After some investigation into other machines
both new and used, the "Team" at Secura decided to stick with a British
and local manufacturer. The existing Focus press has been at the
heart of the recent growth at Secura and this second machine should
both consolidate current work and allow for future expansion.
December 2010, and after being at Unit L2 (and latterly L1) for
5 years, a little building "TLC" was required, a new floor coating and
movement of cutter, ink, cores and other ancillary storage took place in a
bid to improve the flow of material through the factory. A further fulltime
member of the production staff was also found bringing the total to 8.
Secura are pleased to support Tetraplegic Charity
Regain
by providing race numbers for their Snowdon
Challenge, as well as a Team member! As the 10th running
of the event, a team including a Tetraplegic was put
together and Simon Miller was "lucky" to be a member.

June 2010 and a further expension as Secura takes the
ajoining unit, its primary fuction as "warehouse".
Alongside the extra floor space, a further member of
staff has been taken on, working mainly on goods in
and out, but assisting with general factory duties.

September 2009 and Secura Labels having been assessed and approved achieve ISO 9001
May 2008 and further investment. A 330mm wide Turret
Rewind unit is installed providing a more streamline
finishing option. Able to take 25mm, 44mm and 76mm
cores, the unit removes the need for a second "rewind"
operation. On one recent job the post press rewind
method would have taken approx 2 weeks to rewind alone,
with the Turret the order, 17,000,000 16 x 22mm labels
across 30 plates, was delivered in a week.
In the Spring of 2007 Secura Labels’ add the final pieces of the
2005 planned investment programme, a Sheeter and
"Ben Bunch" in-line Fanfold unit, offering even further benefits to their growing
customer base.
September 2006 and our continuing investment into the latest print technology
applications now enables us to provide the very best in
printing facilities, including a 330mm wide focus
Proflex four colour UV printer, with the ability to
reverse print or print of both sides of the material,
be it paper, plastic, foil or film; and an eight colour
printing press, all from our "new" base in Measham, which has increased our floorspace
and increased our capacity by around 50%.
During 2005, Secura Labels bagan the planning of a programme
of investment and expansion. This would enable an improved and extended
service. A visit to Labelexpo in Brussels looking at Wide Web Presses and
regular site visits to potential new "homes" took up much time during
the Autumn.
2000 a new decade and a new Secura Labels as David and Kay Webster decided to
retire. It was business as usual though with Pemberstone`s "Capital Ventures", as it was then,
wishing to maintain the company as it was. Other acquisitions were sought, but
none were found to suit the "profile" the Directors were looking for.
Following another European visit in 1997, this time to LabelExpo in Brussels,
the first Brand New machinery is purchased, an AB Graphics slitter / rewind unit. This was
a requirement with the two Nilpeters and Ident producing much more
volume than the two "table top" rewinders could cope with.
Following a trip to Amsterdam in 1994 a 3 colour Nilpeter F240 arrives
at Paceprint Works. This press was, it is fair to say, in need of some
"TLC", and the Press was almost completely rebuilt before entering service.
1992 and Secura Label`s largest investment to date, a 6 Colour
Nilpeter F240 Press, a couple of years old at a cost of £88,000.00.
This Press gave more colour options, and with a wider web, opened up in-roads into
new markets and gave better options for existing customers.
1988, April 1st, and a move to Paceprint Works in Moira.
The 2 Idents and now 3 Foil machines, appeared lost in the new space, but within
a short time a 6" Stanford Flexo press was sought and at its height the Foil
department could boast 5 machines. To join the in house artwork, a
platemaker was obtained, and so Secura Labels could offer a complete
"In House" service.
1986, Unit 10 Ivanhoe Ind Est in Ashby-de-la-Zouch, now with 4 "full time"
and 2 "part time" staff, 2 Ident Flexo Presses, 2 Foil Presses, and now able to
offer "in house" artwork.
1984, with a further member of staff, and its first "Foil" press,
a move to Chapel Works in Ashby-de-la-Zouch was required. Moving on from
here forced by the acquisition of the site for the building of
a new "supermarket"
1982 sees the "birth" of Secura Labels in the small
Leicestershire village of Packington. The Ident 4" Press used
here is still in use today
Secura understands the necessity for embracing new
technology and we offer the very latest in heat sensitive
labelling and thermal printing. The applications for
our new technology include Pharmaceuticals, Forensic
Evidence, Food Labelling, Stock Control and Entertainment
(security ticketing) etc. Please follow the links
to the pages dealing with these subjects in detail.
